I walk because 1 million women are living with undiagnosed breast cancer in the United States.  I walk because 40,000 women and 400 men will die this year.  I walk because Teresa and Phyllis have lost their battle with breast cancer.  I walk because Bette, Helen, Sandy, Mary Lou, Monica, Gale, Bonnie, Linda, and Ron are survivors.  

I will be walking and fundraising for 15 "mega" walks for breast cancer in 2004.  I will walk in 5 of the 6 Avon Walks for Breast Cancer and all 10 of the Breast Cancer 3•Day walks (Susan G. Komen beneficiary) around the country.  Actually, the weekend of September 10-12, I will be walking in Minneapolis (3•Day) on Fri and Sat, and LA (Avon) on Sun!  This will be over 750 miles of walking and over 47,000 miles traveling!

I am excited with this new challenge and look forward to raising even more money for the cause. Last year I raised $110,000 and my goal this year is to surpass that!

September 1, 2004     Another change in plans-- I have decided to not walk in the Twin Cities, but just in the Avon LA in 2 weeks. Then a couple of weeks off before the Avon NY, 3Day SF, LA and AZ.

I have so far raised over $124,000 for both organizations.
